4.
The first thing my Cognitive Behavioral Therapist taught me was the concept of “radical acceptance.”

I simply had to accept whatever might happen and repeat over and over to myself, “Who the fuck cares?”

It turns out that very few people give a fuck about anything outside of their own heads, let alone what you are doing. Anxiety is often caused by our perceptions of what other’s think about us, or will think if the worst happens, whatever that may be.

When we obsess over that perception and worry ourselves into panic, it’s a form of narcissism. Your narrative becomes 100% about you.

Saying, “Who the fuck cares” is an act of kindness to yourself and others. You’re saying, “I’m not all that important in the grand scheme and I’m not going to make this all about me. Even if the worst happened in this situation, the world will keep spinning...for a few billion more years. Everyone will forget about me and be forgotten themselves in time.”

Time is a great equalizer.

That’s comforting, isn’t it?
