As with [running barefoot](/david/thoughts/#barefoot), it is really important to me to practice a sport in a sustainable way. I’m learning swimming freestyle alone for almost 4 years now, there are still a lot of gotchas I can spot in the video but I’m really pleased to be able to swim about 3km per hour with my current technique.

Actually, that’s not the metrics that matter but just being in the water that morning in a gorgeous place after a night fighting [mosquitoes](/david/stream/2018/07/04/) and [raccoons](/david/stream/2018/07/05/).
