Le monde se divise en trois catégorie : ceux qui voient le pistolet, ceux qui voient la balle et ceux qui voient la cible. Moi, je creuse.
That post has been inspired by a real event but I will try to stay as elusive as possible not to put names on characters.
- The Seller has a product to make you dream of. He speaks with shiny images and quickly hits your buzzword bingo. He is focused on short-term achievements.
- The Teacher has principles to show off. She speaks with notes and focus on efficiency and processes. She is focused on repeatable delivery.
- The Wise has a vision and cares about persons. He speaks with his heart about values and trust. He is focused on deep changes through exemplarity.
All three might end up delivering the same product. But the paths and the long-term impacts will not be the same. The tragedy here is that the wiser you get, the higher you try to have an influence reducing the chances to have pertinent experiments at a local scale. But, I still believe that innovation must come from the ground up with small initiatives.
That wise paradox is hard to deal with daily at a very personal scale.
